Missing My Mom

The one year anniversary of my mom's passing just happened but it still feels like it was yesterday. There are so many things that I would like to do if I could only turn back the hands of time. But since I can't I have to look ahead and figure out how to live without her. Her passing has definitely made death more real to me. I really didn't think that she would die, especially not now. So what can I do to honor my mother? She supported me in my endeavors to be an entrepreneur. She always gave me advice about who to call to get more exposure for the BootBand and she was always there with an encouraging word. I have to remember how much my mom supported me and my business. She actually set the stage for me to be an entrepreneur. When I was a little girl, to make ends meet and to make the weekly payments on our refrigerator, we made crosses out of beads and lace. My mom, my brother and myself would then go door-to-door selling them until we had sold them all. We went straight to the Rent-a-Center and paid the weekly bill and this is how my mom paid for our refrigerator. Who wouldn't miss a woman like this who was so resourceful and creative? With tears in my eyes, I will keep striving to be the best entrepreneur that I can because anything less would be a dishonor to my mom.

The boot band has been a great addition to my boot loving self! It was so needed!

    Thank you!

I’m very sorry for your loss. I recently lost my grandpa last year. And there is. Itching but time that can make it better.
I have a friend that works at Maurices(a store that carries sizes 0-24 that I love for plus size clothing) as a store mgr. I do not have any idea of what kind of pull she has or connections, but when I order my bands and can wear cute boots, I’m definitely going to press her to get the word out about these. if not to the company, to the customers. She pressed me to try different styles and go out of my comfort zones. Now I want to wear all these girly clothes and cute things, however I can’t pull them all off if I can’t wear boots over my calf. I would LOVE for these to become a huge hit. I have lots of friends who would benefit from these and I will be sharing the site a lot once I have them in hand and can show off pictures!
    Good luck to you!

Parents provide us with such great strength. I am so sorry for the loss of a mom who sounds amazing. I know Oprah endorsed Boot Bands. Do you think she might be willing to help you make a connection with a big retailer, like Nordstroms, Zappos or DSW who sell tons of boots? Also, have you considered selling on e-bay and/or Amazon? You have a good product – you just need recognition. Stay strong.

Your story brought me to tears, I’m very close with my Mom also and couldn’t imagine not having her in my life. My heart goes out to you. Take comfort in knowing that your wonderful Mom is watching over you and by your side everyday. When you catch a faint smell of that familiar scent, or a glimpse of a shadow out of the corner of your eye…she’s with you. Never give up and keep striving to be the best, your idea is fantastic and such a life saver for those of us with voluptuous calves! I can’t wait to get my extender so I can finally wear my beautiful boots that have been sitting brand new in my closet since last year.

Don’t give up! Your idea is genius. For those of us with “more calf” I thank you. We deserve to wear sexy, on trend boots just as much as the next girl! I cannot believe Nordstrom hasn’t snatched these up. They would more than double their boot sales ?

    Keep knocking on those doors.
